If you have chosen ‘A Day at Ketut’s Hideaway‘ or ‘Snorkeling and lunch‘, you will taste the delights of traditional Balinese village food cooked by Ibu Kadek. Ibu Kadek is Ketut’s wife. She is usually helped in the kitchen by her daughter Iluh and her niece, who is also called Kadek.

Ibu Kadek is pleased to tell you about the foods that she prepares for your lunch. You are also welcome to join in the cooking, and at the same time, learn about the ingredients and different ways of cooking Balinese village foods.

Your lunch will be made from an array of spices and fresh foods that are sourced from village gardens and fishermen as well as the local markets.

A Balinese village lunch at Ketut’s Hideaway may include bergedil jagung (corn fritters), stir fried vegetables, bbq pork in special sauce, grilled chicken and/or fish, spiced chicken steamed in banana leaves.

And best of all you can come back for seconds, or maybe thirds, if you are still feeling hungry!
